Q:
Do you stand your stallions to outside mares?
A: We do not
stand our stallions at the Ranch to outside mares.
Since our summer pastures are several miles in different
directions from the headquarters, we only pasture breed.
And, the maximum handling capacities of the pastures are
maintained with our just our own mares. If we retain fillies,
we must sell down that same number of mares in order to
make room for them in the pastures.

Welcome to
the official Sheldak Ranch web site!
Within
these pages, you will find both stories and photos of many
of our own Appaloosa
legends, along with a fine selection of horses for sale. Our
sale stock ranges from weanlings and yearlings, to broodmares,
and includes some
select breeding age stallions. Our foals begin to arrive in
April,  and
once they get some
age on them, we will include photos of those precious babies
that many of you have come
to anticipate seeing us advertise nationally! Our

have not been conditioned, groomed or bathed - right out of
the pasture! The
horses you will see on our web site are all just "Naturally
Appaloosa" - horses with a natural glow, natural physique
and
typically sweet dispositions - NATURALLY!
We
are dedicated to raising you the richest bred Appaloosas in
the Breed. Priceless
pedigrees where every sire and dam in 4 solid generations
is a Champion and/or

W blood. The bloodlines that have known no equal in producing
versatile proven performers with ultimate halter conformation

have purchased and bred the very best Lane Hudson, Carl Miles,
Cecil Dobbin &
Hank Wiescamp horses and offer you the rich results of this
breeding program. All
of them going back to OLD FRED. And
now for the icing on the cake, we are infusing the blood of
String Of Stars!
